A man is being held on $350,000 bail in North Central Regional Jail after a Monongalia County magistrate found probable cause to bring the man to trial. The man has is being held on multiple charges of child sexual abuse.
The 25 year old man is facing charges including child sexual abuse by a custodian, child abuse with a risk of injury, and several additional child molestation charges – all resulting from acts he allegedly committed on an underage boy. The West Virginia State Police Crimes against Children Unit appeared in court to testify against the man regarding the charges.
Child sexual abuse charges are always serious. However it is important that defendants such as the one mentioned here be presumed innocent until proven guilty, thereby respecting the accused’s right to a fair trial.
